How the rainfall radar works
A rainfall radar turns radar returns into a coloured map of where rain is falling right now — brighter colours mean heavier rain. An animated rainfall radar plays those frames as a loop and extends them a little way into the future, so you can watch a shower approach and judge when it will arrive. Hyperlocal Weather builds that loop from high-resolution radar and blends it with observations and forecast models from Foreca and Apple WeatherKit for a sharp, up-to-date picture.
