What makes a radar forecast different?
Classic weather radar is a rear-view mirror: it loops the last hour of echoes and leaves you to guess where the rain goes next. A radar forecast flips that around. Hyperlocal Weather blends forecast model data from Foreca and Apple WeatherKit with real weather-station observations, then renders the result as animated frames on the same map — so pressing play carries you from what the radar measured into what the model predicts.

What is a radar forecast?
A radar forecast — sometimes called future radar — is a radar map you can play forwards in time. Instead of only replaying where rain has already been, Hyperlocal Weather's timeline animates where forecast precipitation will move next, so you can watch a shower approach or slide past your location before it happens.
How is the radar forecast different from live radar?
Live radar shows measured echoes from the recent past; the radar forecast extends that picture into the future using forecast model data from Foreca and Apple WeatherKit blended with real weather-station observations. In Hyperlocal Weather both live in the same map — drag or play the timeline to move seamlessly from past frames into predicted ones.
Which map layers can I add to the forecast radar map?
Layer chips above the map let you switch between Radar, Precipitation, Satellite, Temperature, Wind, Sea Temp, Lightning and Hurricane layers. An intensity legend runs from light rain and overcast through heavy rain and storm up to hail, so you can read at a glance how strong the incoming precipitation is.
